The Winekiki-Story

Hi, I’m Kiki. I live in Nürnberg, Germany. Thanks for visiting my spiffy online wine boutique. I'm an Aries. I have an excellent husband ( I had to write that) and two super kids. And my favorite color is green. My turn-ons are indie films, satirical humor, and infomercials. My turn-offs are pessimism, optimism, and infomercials.

I studied „here“, and I cooked „there“, and I worked as a wine buyer at „this other place“. Blah, Blah, Blah. I am working my way through the certifications of the Court of Master Sommeliers. That’s probably worth mentioning because the CMS is a pretty cool club.

Everyone always writes why they are the smartest and the best but does anyone actually care? I’m not into self-deprecation (unless it is funny). I just think that it feels haughty to wax on about why I think I am some kind of wine authority. Obviously, I think I know something about wine and have something unique to offer.... Or else I wouldn’t have launched this little (BIG!) project.

Okay, enough of that.

The idea for this project started over three years ago. I was analyzing the wine business, sommeliers, and the whole negative snobby stigma that is sometimes associated with it..... So I thought, why not make an online wine boutique that has more to offer in the way of information? And why not make it fun and cool? Then I found some cool stuff out there that was truly inspirational like Wine Folly (winefolly.com) and Jancis Robinson (jancisrobinson.com). More fun, and less boring wine blah, blah, blah talk.

I developed two cool and intuitive tools to you help guide you to your virtual wine selection.... Because let’s face it people, you can lick your computer screen but you still won’t know what that bottle with the cool label tastes like, right?

I think that pairing food and wine is also necessary. I mean, if you are going to drink wine you should eat a little something with it. It’s more interesting and fun that way. So I paired a recipe for each wine to help you out a bit in the kitchen. I even included some music suggestions for your food and wine listening enjoyment....Why not?
